Orphan Pups Celebrate Massive Milestone Decked Out in Style

There’s More to Celebrate than National Ugly X-Mas Sweater Day!

Rancho Santa Fe, Calif.  (December 21, 2018) – Today, throughout the country, men and women will attend holiday parties in over-the-top knitwear to celebrate National Ugly Christmas Sweater day.  Helen Woodward Animal Center orphan pets have gotten in on the less-than-fashionable trend, to celebrate something even more important.  On the 20th Anniversary of the Center’s worldwide animal adoption campaign, Home 4 the Holidays, Helen Woodward Animal Center can officially announce that more than 15 million orphan pets have found loving homes thanks to the program.

More families bring home a new pet during the holiday season than any other time of the year. Based on that knowledge Center President & CEO Mike Arms began the Home 4 the Holidays campaign, to encourage new pet seekers to choose adoption for their forever fur-iend rather than turn to backyard breeders or pet stores. Home 4 the Holidays, presented by Blue Buffalo, now has approximately 4,000 participating shelters in 26 countries who together have worked to find homes for orphan pets.

Helen Woodward Animal Center is grateful for the many blessings the Home 4 The Holidays campaign has brought to the world of orphan pets. “Our pups are happy to do whatever they can to find their forever family,” stated Center Adoption Services Manager Ashley Freeman, “even don an ugly Christmas sweater.  And as cute as these guys are, they can pull them off better than anyone I’ve ever seen.   We hope the perfect person will see their holiday spirit and give them the home they’ve dreamed of this Christmas.”
