Once upon a time… I took a picture of my pet!

Enter Helen Woodward Animal Center’s Furry Tails Pet Photo Contest and portray your pet as the fairy tale—sorry, furry tail—hero they truly are while raising funds to support the pets and programs at Helen Woodward Animal Center.

Entering is as easy as 1,2,3!

  1. Submit a high-quality photo of your pet that shows how enchanting they truly are
  2. Share the magic with your family and friends so they can cast their vote
  3. Garner the most votes and see your pet become magically transform into a furry-tail character in our calendar

There is a $25 fee to enter the contest, and all entries with a minimum of 5 votes will appear in the calendar. Even better, every entrant who submits a photo of their “furry” princess or “purrince” charming will receive a free Helen Woodward Animal Center 2025 Furry Tails Calendar!

These dashing domesticated dogs and cats represent some of our highest-voted heroes… But there is still two weeks to see your pet claim their rightful seat in history!

Don’t forget! A positively princely prize is available to the number one pet protagonist that garners the most votes, including:

  • A photoshoot of your furry friend for their full-page feature in Helen Woodward Animal Center’s 2025 Furry Tails Calendar
  • A guest seat at the 2025 Surf Dog Costume Contest Judge’s Panel
  • 2 Silver tickets to the 2025 Spring Fling Gala ($500 value)
  • A one-night stay in a double occupancy Deluxe Room at Sycuan Casino and Resort and a complimentary lunch or dinner for two at one of the resort’s participating restaurants
