From the mountains to the coastline, it’s amazing what hiking adventures we can go on in San Diego! Native plants and animals call these beautiful places home, so what exactly does it take to recreate in these areas responsibly?
Helen Woodward Animal Center is excited to offer a NEW wildlife appreciation program exclusively to Girl Scouts! During this program Daisy, Brownie, Junior, and Cadette level scouts will be able to complete the requirements for their respective Trail Adventure badges, all alongside some of our adorable animal ambassadors!
During this program, scouts can expect to learn how to choose an appropriate level outdoor journey for their skillset, determine what gear they need and how to prepare, and even go on an adventure on our 12 acre Helen Woodward Animal Center grounds!

This badge workshop is open to Daisies, Brownies, Juniors, and Cadettes. On the day of the program, the troops will be paired with similar level troops in order to complete all the badge requirements for that level.
Helen Woodward Animal Center will not provide the Trail Adventure Patch, but Helen Woodward Animal Center patches are available for purchase onsite for $5 each.
Scouts can expect to meet a dog, rabbit, and snake.
Your program fee helps support all of our adoptable animals, as well as the many human and animal services that Helen Woodward Animal Center provides.
