From the mountains to the coastline, it’s amazing what hiking adventures we can go on in San Diego! Native plants and animals call these beautiful places home, so what exactly does it take to recreate in these areas responsibly?
During this program, participants can expect to learn how to choose an appropriate level outdoor journey for their
skill set, determine what gear they need and how to prepare, and how to be safe and respectful when hiking
alongside wildlife and natural spaces, all with the help of some of our adorable animal ambassadors!
During this program Daisy and Brownie level scouts will be able to complete most of the requirements for their
respective Trail Adventure badges.
On the day of the program, two groups will run and similar aged participants will be grouped together so that they
can experience activities appropriate for their skill level.
Participants can expect to meet a dog, rabbit, and snake.
Animals are subject to change based on health and availability.
Must be 5 years old to touch reptiles.
Helen Woodward Animal Center will not provide the Trail Adventure Patch, but Helen Woodward Animal Center
patches are available for purchase onsite for $5 each.
