Spring has sprung in the Education Department!

We had a great time exploring the spring season, baby animals, parenting techniques, and animal lifecycles during Spring Tails 2024! Check back next year to see details about this program come next spring!

Schools, Scouts, and Playgroups

Spring Tails is the perfect program for a class field trip, Scout outing, or play group activity because it makes science egg-citing! Hop on over for a  60 or 90 minute adventure that includes HANDS-ON animal interactions, a STEM activity, and lessons about life cycles, baby animals and other changes that occur during spring.

 

Schools
Spring Tails incorporates STEM and meets Next Generation Science Standards for grades K-6th. We can also bring this program to your classroom, so cut down on bus costs and scheduling headaches and let us come to you!

Girl Scouts
This program can be customized to meet some of the “Between Earth and Sky” journey requirements for Daisies.

Spring Tails Details

90 minute programs include

Interactions with 4 animals plus a STEM activity focused on butterfly conservation. Kids will interact with the following animals, which vary depending on location.

Onsite: mini horse, chicken, frog, Madagascar hissing cockroach
Offsite: guinea pig, dove, frog, Madagascar hissing cockroach

60 minute programs include

Either interactions with 3 animals plus a STEM activity focused on butterfly conservation, or interactions with 4 animals and directions to do the STEM activity on your own (supplies not included). Kids will interact with the following animals, which vary depending on location.

Onsite:  mini horse, chicken, frog 
Offsite: guinea pig, dove, frog

  • Species may vary depending on animal health, safety and availability.
  • Must be at least 5-years old to pet reptiles.
