HERE’S THE LATEST FROM HELEN WOODWARD ANIMAL CENTER!!

Rancho Santa Fe, Calif. (May 28, 2020) – Helen Woodward Animal Center is committed to the mission of “people helping animal and animal helping people” and that’s been highlighted over the last several months through the COVID-19 pandemic. The ongoing situation caused the closure of some of the Center’s programs and services but as San Diego County begins Phase 2 and 3 of reopening, Helen Woodward Animal Center has the following updates.


Orphaned Objects Resale Shop – Helen Woodward Animal Center’s resale store has opened its doors for in-store, in-person shopping. At Orphaned Objects, you can find brand name clothing, home decor, furniture, handbags, jewelry and more and all sales benefit the pets and programs at Helen Woodward Animal Center! To abide by county regulations, the store is limited to 10 shoppers at a time; shoppers are required to wear a face covering while in the store. Sanitation products are available for customers and staff is regularly sanitizing surfaces. For hours and more information click here. 


Club Pet – Club Pet Boarding is open with health regulations in place! Club Pet offers overnight boarding, doggie daycare and grooming services. It’s the place your pet wants to be when they can’t be with you! Right now, Club Pet is offering 50% off to healthcare workers who present their medical badge as a thank you for all their work! Summer Critter Camp – Summer Critter Camp begins June 8! Animals give us a reason to smile and we could all use extra reasons to smile right now! Camp is open for children kindergarten through 6th grade and they will experience amazing animal interactions and summer camp activities, including animal-themed games, crafts, songs and more! In order to take precautions against the COVID-19 pandemic, this year’s Summer Critter Camp has several modifications. These changes were made to ensure everyone’s safety and were created based on CDC guidance. Modifications are subject to change. Read more and sign up for camp here!

PAWmicon Goes Virtual – PAWmicon celebrates superhero adopters and the amazing furry sidekicks that save us right back! You and your furry sidekicks can now enjoy the spirit of PAWmicon from the comfort and safety of your home. Registration for Virtual PAWmicon 2020 will gain you access to our pet cosplay contests, panel discussions and interviews, trivia rounds, exclusive vendor shopping, augmented and web virtual reality experiences and more. Panel discussions and interviews, trivia and other livestreamed events will take place on July 7th and 8th. Learn more and register here!


Companion Animal Hospital – The Center’s Companion Animal Hospital has remained open to serve the beloved pets of our community. Safety protocols are currently in place and we ask clients to remain in their cars when they arrive for an appointment and call the lobby, a staff member will meet you outside wearing a mask and maintaining social distance and escort your pet inside for their visit. Appointments can be made for a variety of needs by calling 858-756-4469.
