Rancho Santa Fe (November 4, 2024) – Election day can be one of the most stressful days of the year, causing anxiety among even the most confident voters. In order to alleviate any stress or cam-PAINs of the local electorate as they perform their civic duty, Helen Woodward Animal Center will be bringing adoptable animals to a local polling station. Starting when polls open at 7 a.m. on election day, and lasting until 6 p.m., citizens casting their ballots at Rancho Santa Fe Fire Station #2 (16930 Four Gee Rd. San Diego, CA 92127) will be greeted by biPAWtisan furry faces whose only legislative agenda is loving someone no matter who they cast their ballot for.
Whether Demo-CAT, Re-PUP-lican, or even Inde-PET-dant, voters on November 5 will get the opportunity to interact with a canine congress determined to win over your love and affection. The Helen Woodward Animal Center Party has always held the platform of “people helping animals, and animals helping people,” since its inception in 1972. The Center regularly hosts events to provide puppy love for those who need it the most –including staff and patients in hospitals, alleviating the stress of first responders – and even hosting adoption drives for Veterans and members of the Armed Forces. Now, the Center’s campaign promise is to temporarily alleviate the woes of the average voter.
“2024 is shaping up to be the most divisive, and stressful election we’ve seen in a long time,” said Renee Resko, VP of Development. “Studies show animals are experts in their field at relieving anxiety, and we’re hoping the unconditional love of these puppies will help bring people together and ease any campaign woes.”
All dogs in attendance ARE up for adoption. so if someone falls in love with a cute face at the ballot box, they’re encouraged to head down the campaign trail to Helen Woodward Animal Center and submit an application to take home their favorite pet. Dog or cat, you can’t make a mistake no matter who you pick!
