Hollywood Beauty Awards Helping to Celebrate the Beauty of Orphan Animals

For the Third year, Helen Woodward Animal Center Named Award Show Beneficiary

Rancho Santa Fe, Calif. (Feb. 3, 2020) – Beauty may be “in the eye of the beholder” but over the last few years, thanks to Michele Elyzabeth (founder of both the Hollywood Beauty Awards and the Daytime Beauty Awards), Tinsel Town has been seeing a bit more fuzzy in its finest faces. Helen Woodward Animal Center is honored to once again participate in a celebration of beauty as the beneficiary of the 3rd annual Hollywood Beauty Awards, Thursday, Feb. 6th, 2020 at the Taglyan in Los Angeles.  This year, a very special Red Carpet Corres-PAW-ndent, by the name of Bark RUFFalo, will be right in the heart of the action!

The glamorous, star-studded award show recognizes the Science behind Beauty spotlighting health & wellness professionals in: Dentistry, Medicine, Health & Fitness, Aesthetics, Skincare, Color & Styling, Cannabis, Beauty Innovation and products around Hollywood’s biggest stars who specialize in FILM, TV, MUSIC, editorial and red carpet looks.

Previous honorees have included Britney Spears, Christie Brinkley, Cindy Crawford, Tommy Chong of “Cheech and Chong,” and Sugar Ray Leonard with celebrity presenters including actors Denzel Washington, Johnny Depp, Meagan Tandy and Tara Reid. This year, the Hollywood Beauty Awards will honor Larry King with The Gentleman’s Award and Morgan Fairchild will be honored with The Timeless Beauty Award.

Other celebrity presenters and honorees this year include Ice Cube, Leslie Mann, Sharon Osbourne, Jerry Hall, Adria Arjona, Rick Baker, Davis Factor, Chris Appleton and Carola Gonzalez, among others.

Helen Woodward Animal Center began its partnership with the Beauty Awards when first invited on as beneficiary of the Hollywood Beauty Awards in 2017 following its extensive rescue efforts during Hurricane Harvey.  LATF USA News became aware of this work, as well as the Center’s other extensive rescue work, through international and national press releases and knew that the match as recipient would be a good one.

The idea to include a puppy corres-PAW-ndent on the red carpet began at last year’s Daytime Beauty Awards and seemed a natural way to connect the star-power of the event to the beauty of the beneficiary’s mission.  Orphan pup Bark RUFFalo will attend as this year’s CorresPAWndent. Bark Ruffalo, a Poodle blend, arrived at Helen Woodward Animal Center from a rescue partner in a rural part of California’s Central Valley, where resources are often scarce. His transfer to San Diego ensures Bark Ruffalo will have a better chance at a bright and healthy future.  When asked what one dream he had before he settled in with a new family, he asked to walk the red carpet to meet celebrities who understand the true beauty of rescue.

“The unconditional love, joy, and kindness we see within the faces of our orphan pets radiates a glow that can stop you in your tracks,” explained Center VP of Development Renee Resko.  “We are so grateful to the Hollywood Beauty Awards for shining a light on the beauty that exists in the hearts of orphan pets.”

“There is nothing more endearing than the love of animals. I could never conceive my life without my furry friends around me. Thanks to Helen Woodward Animal Center, many of them find homes full of love,” said Michele Elyzabeth.

As for the rest of the furry friends at Helen Woodward Animal Center, they are simply touched that the glitzy award ceremony – full of Tinsel-Town’s most gorgeous – recognizes a different kind of beautiful.
