Helen Woodward Animal Center Invites San Diego Animal Lovers to “Taco One for the Team” to Support Orphan Pets
Helen Woodward Animal Center asks San Diegans to trade in Taco Tuesday for Guacamole Wednesday
Rancho Santa Fe, Calif. (July 26, 2018) – For the second year in a row, Helen Woodward Animal Center is delighted to invite San Diegan, burrito-loving animal enthusiasts to support orphan pets by simply enjoying a meal at one of their favorite restaurants. On Wednesday, Aug. 1, from 10:30 a.m. to close, every San Diego Chipotle restaurant will donate half of all fundraiser sales to Helen Woodward Animal Center when you mention Helen Woodward Animal Center at checkout!
“We couldn’t be more grateful to be a part of this incredible single-day fundraiser with Chipotle Mexican Grill to benefit people and animals alike,” said Jessica Gercke, spokesperson for Helen Woodward Animal Center. “The donations we receive through these fundraisers can do so much good for our orphan pets waiting to find their forever homes.”
For San Diegans who usually opt to enjoy their burritos on “Taco Tuesday,” Helen Woodward Animal Center experts suggest holding off until Wednesday with the following tips:
- If you find yourself craving tacos too early, distract yourself by visiting org and ogling adorable, adoptable dogs and cats!
- I If Tuesday just doesn’t feel right without something delicious, you can enter the “Cutest Burrito” Costume Contest online! Dress up your pet like a burrito and post the photo tagging @hwac.
Your costumed buddy could help you win a Grand Prize Chipotle dinner with friends – including entrees for six, a chip and salsa spread, and a behind-the-scenes tour of Helen Woodward Animal Center.
- If all else fails, eat Mexican food on Taco Tuesday anyway, but DEFINITELY be first in line at your local Chipotle at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 1, to satisfy all of your guac cravings and fill your animal-loving heart with joy!
And make sure you mention Helen Woodward Animal Center so that 50 percent of your purchase total goes toward helping orphan pets!
Animal-loving San Diegans will be glad to know that all of their Chipotle favorite items, from burritos to salads to bowls to drinks, are included in the fundraiser.
