Helen Woodward Animal Center Transports Animal and Party-lovers down the Yellow Brick Road at the 2016 Annual Spring Fling Gala

Rancho Santa Fe, Calif.  (May. 23, 2016) – In its 28th year, Helen Woodward Animal Center’s elegant Spring Fling Gala, presented by EDCO, will take guests on a magical journey.  The Gala Committee, headed by Committee Chair Ann Dizney, is hosting a black-tie evening designed to transport partygoers down the yellow brick road to a “Wonderful World of Oz”-themed affair.  The Center’s most fabulous fundraiser of the year takes place on Saturday, June 4th, 2016 from 5:30pm to midnight at Fairbanks Village Plaza in Rancho Santa Fe and will be emceed by Jack FM’s Shelly Dunn and KUSI’s Mark Mathis.  

It will be all sophisticated elegance as the evening opens with a stroll through the whimsical Kansas countryside complete with cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, fuzzy VIPs and a silent auction of exquisite one-of-a-kind items.  As the sun sets, the Emerald City’s lights will shine bright and attendees will enjoy a dinner of taste-portioned classic and innovative dishes.  Helen Woodward Animal Center’s Spring Fling Gala is known for its 5-star dining experience which highlights delectable tastings from San Diego’s top restaurants.  Keeping up with her tradition (and former position as Restaurant Chair), Committee Chair Ann Dizney has secured an impressive restaurant lineup including such fine-dining favorites as Searsucker Del Mar, Bushfire Kitchen, The Fish Market, Green Dragon Tavern, Piatti Restaurant, Royal India Del Mar, The Melting Pot La Jolla, Truluck’s Seafood, Steaks & Crab House, Casa Sol Y Mar, and Pacifica Del Mar, to name a few.  

Following dinner, guests will delight in sweet treats, as well as local beer, wine, and spirits while enjoying live entertainment and a rousing live auction including such exclusive items as a New York City vacation in a sky-high Penthouse boasting an impressive art collection and amazing views of Central Park; a luxurious 3-night spa package from Cal-a-Vie Health Spa; a Mini Cooper S Convertible; a VIP Padre-for-a-Day Package with a behind-the-scenes experience with the Padres; and an elegant 4-night stay in Honolulu, Hawaii with accommodations at The Modern Honolulu and dinner at Morimoto Waikiki.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to purchase a raffle ticket for a chance to win two first-class round-trip tickets on United Airlines.  Tickets are valid for travel throughout the U.S.; and to Alaska, Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean andCentral America (terms and conditions apply).  Opportunity tickets may be purchased online and winner does not need to be present to win.  

Tickets to the 28th Annual Spring Fling Gala can be purchased at Silver, Gold and Platinum levels (ranging from $250 – $500 a ticket) with various special amenities included at each level.  Platinum level seating includes a true VIP experience from private dining and bar servers, two bottles of fine wine, a dried fruit and brandy pairing and cake-pop tray, priority check-in/out, valet service, a souvenir from the Emerald City and an exclusive VIP gift for each guest.
