LOVABLE LOUIS FINDS HIS FOREVER HOME!

Media Invited to Meet the Very Special Family TOMORROW  @ 12:30 p.m…

Rancho Santa Fe, Calif.  (Jan. 14, 2021) – Since its founding, Helen Woodward Animal Center has been focused on dedicating all needed resources to the well-being and happy endings of orphan pets.  Now a severely mistreated pup, who became an overnight international celebrity, is finding his happy ending in the arms of an absolutely perfect family.  The media is invited to join Helen Woodward Animal Center staff and important friends as they celebrate the adoption of Louis – TOMORROW, Friday, January 15th at 12:30 p.m. – @ 6461 El Apajo Road, Rancho Santa Fe, CA 92067, in the Memorial Garden.

Louis, a 3-year-old Lab/Shepherd mix whose eyes were removed due to his former owners’ prolonged neglect of a severe eye infection, has stolen hearts from coast to coast and even across the globe.  Abandoned only days after his losing his eyes; the gentle pup has become a symbol for the many mistreated pets who find themselves relinquished to shelters and county facilities across the globe.  The discovery of a broken leg that had also been left untreated only heightened the public’s devastation.

Animal-lovers, businesses, and organizations across the globe have been calling, emailing, donating, filling out adoption applications and offering services to help Louis adapt to his new life.  In only two days, the donations in honor of Louis and animals like him, has hit close to $25,000.  Social media shares and loving emails have come from the Los Angeles Chargers, celebrities from The Real Housewives franchise, and individuals from states as far away as Tennessee, Pennsylvania, New York, Texas, Montana, Kentucky, Nevada, Arizona, Louisiana, Georgia, Florida, and North Carolina and from countries as far away as Spain, Panama, The Netherlands, The Philippines, and Chile.  Hundreds of calls and applications to adopt Louis have come in from 35 different U.S. states and countries such as Canada and Mexico.

Despite this global response, Helen Woodward Animal Center has stayed focused on finding a local adopter to reduce the stress of Louis’ transition into his new home, and so that the many generous individuals and businesses can provide gifts and services to the adopting family.

Now the Center is pleased to announce that we have found Louis a truly wonderful family to call his own.  Helen Woodward Animal Center is delighted to introduce the media to the new forever family at an adoption celebration TOMORROW afternoon, Friday, January 15th, at 12:30 p.m.  A special surprise presentation will be made to the new family as a thank you for giving our furry friend the ultimate life he deserves.  Please join us as we say goodbye to Louis and wish him well on the next step in his journey.

We hope that you will join us tomorrow for a socially-distanced, outdoor celebration!
