Alumni Puppy Prom Returns

Helen Woodward Animal Center Celebrates Orphan Pets’ Graduation to Greatness for a 9th Year…

Rancho Santa Fe, Calif.  (April 20, 2023) – THIS SATURDAY, Helen Woodward Animal Center welcomes adopted alumni and furry dapper darlings to a celebration of animal rescue. The Center’s Puppy Prom returns, reuniting four-legged friends on the dance floor! Grab your favorite fuzzy love and rub hairy shoulders with other adoptees at the 9th Puppy Prom, Saturday, May 6 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., hosted by Original 40 Brewing Company – 3117 University Ave, San Diego, CA 92104.

Helen Woodward Animal Center’s prom-themed reunion welcomes animal-lovers and canines of all kinds, including pups decked out in adorable doggy dresses, tuxes, boutonnieres and painted paw-nails.  The Prom-themed party is FREE to all Helen Woodward Animal Center alumni, as well as other rescue-supporting guests.  Junior and Senior pooches can participate in the crowning of a Best Dressed “Prom King and Queen” ($15 per entry on-line through Friday, May 5th @ 3p.m. and $20 per entry day-of-event), snapping picture-perfect photos against a variety of classic prom backdrops, corsage and boutonniere-making, posing for a group alumni photo and more.  Canine attendees will receive party-favors provided by Kahoots, while supplies last.

Helen Woodward Animal Center loves our kitty alumni too! To enter your rescue kitty in the Best Dressed Kitty King and Queen Contest, simply go online to submit a photo of your cat (dressed in their prom finery). Photos will be shared on our social media sites and voted on at the Puppy Prom by attending prom-goers with prizes awarded to the Best Dressed Kitty Prom King and Queen.   Cat parents are encouraged to attend to participate in voting for their beloved felines.

Original 40 Brewing will be donating 30% of all food and drink purchases to support the Center pets and programs.  Additionally, the canine-loving business will reveal the winning faces of two participating pups on their PAWSitive Memories Blonde Ale!  Earlier in April, over 100 contestants raised over $17,000 to help the orphan pets at Helen Woodward Animal Center in a Your Boo on a Brew Contest and the top two fund-raisers will be announced at Puppy Prom with their adorable snoots displayed on the limited-edition beer.
