Helen Woodward Animal Center Salutes the Military with Sweet Sponsorship!

Generous Donor KayBella Cares Covers Adoption Fees to Thank Military Members…

Rancho Santa Fe, CA (Nov. 8, 2023) – The brave men and women who dedicate their lives to this country deserve to have a furry friend dedicated especially to them.  In honor of the upcoming Veteran’s Day celebration, Helen Woodward Animal Center invites San Diego military families to meet their newest squad member at the Center’s Paws for Patriots Event.   The promotion has been extended for the entire holiday weekend, welcoming military families to take home a loving pet with adoption fees covered by generous donor KayBella Cares.  Fees for approved adopters (while supplies last) will be covered Thursday, November 9th through Monday, November 13th.

There may be no better reward than the love of an adoring companion waiting at home who knows their owner has the strength to move mountains and part seas.   Helen Woodward Animal Center has been honored to bring smiles to members of the military with sponsored pet adoptions since 2014.  Military holidays are an ideal time to do something special to thank the men and women who serve our country and a beautiful way to find loving homes for orphan dogs and cats. Helen Woodward Animal Center recognizes the years of comfort, laughter, joy and devotion a loving pet can provide – all crucial elements to assist military members and their families whose lives have been dedicated to serving our country near and far.

“Sponsored military adoptions are a great example of people helping animals and animals helping people,” Helen Woodward Animal Center Adoption Services Director Kendall Schulz said.  “These orphan pets get to find their forever homes and then go on to provide so much comfort to these families who need the love of a furry friend the most.”

Helen Woodward Animal Center has seen the healing power of animals and facilitates a number of programs dedicated to serving our military community including: the Pet Encounter Therapy program (PET), utilizing therapeutic animals to help lower blood pressure, regulate breathing, improve memory and lift the spirits of wounded soldiers; the Center’s AniMeals program which regularly assists Wounded Warriors, providing pet food to wounded military clients with service dogs; and Helen Woodward’s Companion Animal Hospital Military Fund which supports our military by offering free veterinary services to the pets of Active Duty Enlisted Military E-1 to E-7 or Disabled Military and their immediate family members.

“We can’t thank our donor, KayBella Cares, who is helping us cover these adoption fees, enough” Schulz said. “Everybody benefits from the bonds that develop between animals and the military families that deserve them.”

Currently, adoptable dogs, cats, puppies and kittens will be waiting for their forever homes. Prospective adopters can view available pets here: https://animalcenter.org/adopt-a-pet.
