Helen Woodward Animal Center Pups Get Ready for Puppy Bowl XX Kickoff!

Put on your team’s colors and turn on your television because the big game that everyone’s been waiting for is almost here! The Annual Puppy Bowl celebrates its 20th year on Sunday, February 11th at 11 am PST on Animal Planet, Discovery, TBS, truTV, Max, and discovery+. Football fans and puppy fans alike can join forces to cheer on three special Helen Woodward Animal Center pups who were drafted earlier this year to play in the big game and raise funds for orphan pets.

Puppy Bowl XX features two teams of the fluffiest and cuddliest “line barkers” and “wide retrievers” taking to the gridiron for a playful game of terrier touchdowns, puppy penalties and furry fumbles. Hailing from rescues and shelters from across the country, these adoptable fuzzy players that make up #TeamRuff and #TeamFluff are serious when it comes to winning the Most Valuable Puppy title and more importantly…their forever homes.

This year, Helen Woodward Animal Center is excited to announce that three puppies will once again play in the Puppy Bowl and represent the Center’s mission of “people helping animals and animals helping people.”  Fred is a Pomeranian/Australian cattle dog blend with a spunky demeanor and a penchant for showPUPship. Dory is a pug/poodle blend who lives for PUPularity and can get a little distracted by her adoring fans. Finally, Hana is a special Chihuahua/Parson Russell terrier blend who was rescued from the Maui Wildfires and has the attitude and will-PAWer of a champion.

In order to better celebrate this exciting event, Helen Woodward Animal Center invites animal-lovers to attend the Puppy Bowl XX Watch Party at McGregor’s Grill, Sunday, February 11th between 10:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.  Viewers can cheer on Fred, Dory, and Hana as they take the stage and vie for the Puppy Bowl’s highly sought after “Lombarky” Trophy. 10% of all food and drink sales will go directly to the pets and programs at Helen Woodward Animal Center. The event will be held on the dog-friendly patio and will offer canine-themed menu items, including a special dish for your attending pooch. Even Helen Woodward Animal Center orphan pups will be attending to root for their kennel-mates!

Those who cannot attend the Watch Party, can still root for the Helen Woodward Animal Center pups by tuning. Puppy Bowl, the original and longest running call-to-adoption television event, returns for its 20th year Sunday, February 11 at 11 AM PT/2 PM ET and will e-simulcast across Animal Planet, Discovery, TBS, truTV, Max, and discovery+.  Be sure to check in early because the tail-gating starts with the PUPPY BOWL Pre-Game Show at 10 AM PT/1 PM ET. Viewers are taken behind-the-scenes on the Puppy Bowl draft with exclusive interviews with coaches and players. Puppy Bowl fans will also learn more about each comPETitors breed blend and other unique traits. 100% of the puppies and kittens that have participated in PUPPY BOWL have been adopted to loving families.
