Since 2017, Pets Without Walls has been helping people experiencing homelessness in San Diego County and low-income seniors by keeping their four-legged companions healthy. The bond between people experiencing hardship and their pets is strong; in doing our part to support the health of these pets, we help keep them with their beloved owners.
In 2022, we were able to expand our services to include low-income seniors thanks to funding from the Alex and Elisabeth Lewyt Charity Trust. Each week, the Lewyt Mobile Pet Health + Wellness Unit visits one of our partners to provide free health checks, microchipping, spays and neuters, vaccines, and flea and tick medications.
PETS WITHOUT WALLS IS UNABLE TO PROVIDE EMERGENCY VETERINARY CARE. If you are experiencing a medical emergency with your pet, please contact your nearest emergency veterinary hospital.
Our mobile veterinary unit visits rotate between partner locations across San Diego County. We offer no-cost general health and wellness care. This includes physical examinations, vaccines, flea and tick prevention, microchipping, and other basic wellness services. We can offer spaying and neutering on a limited basis, by waitlist appointment only. The Pets Without Walls mobile unit is unable to perform cytology, bloodwork, or dental procedures.
Our walk-up visits are held monthly at the Neil Good Day Center located at 299 17th St., San Diego, CA 92101.

How our walkup clinic at Father Joe’s works:
Our first appointment is at 9:00 am and our last appointment is at 1:40 pm. Availability is based on a first come first serve basis. When you arrive, please line up single file at the gate. At 9:00 am, a staff member will walk down the line and write your name, phone number, and place in line. We cannot guarantee you will be seen. Please have your pet leashed or in a carrier and bring any medical documentation you have.

All walk-up Pets Without Walls visits take place at 299 17th St., San Diego, CA 92101, from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm.
If your pet has been seen at a Pets Without Walls clinic within the last three months, and they have no new or significant medical issues or are not due for any core vaccines, we reserve the right to defer a pet’s appointment to a later date in order to help pets who have not yet been seen.
