Helen Woodward Animal Center Partners with Kahoots to Keep Furry Companions with Military Families at This Weekend’s Event…
Rancho Santa Fe, CA (Oct. 18, 2022) – This weekend, Helen Woodward Animal Center is honored to take part in the North County Veterans Stand Down thanks to a PAWsitively inspiring partnership with Kahoots Pet and Feed Store. Uniting together for the annual event, the two organizations are making sure that the men and women who serve our country can keep their pet companions by their side by providing food, supplies and veterinary services through the Lewyt Mobile Pet Health +Wellness Unit. All items and services will be provided FREE to veterans Friday and Saturday (Oct. 21st and 22nd) to thank these military members for their service and to keep them and their families surrounded by the love, joy and security that only a furry friend can bring.
The term “Stand Down” is a military term designating that a combat unit has temporarily moved out of the field and back to base camp for rest and rehabilitation. Life after service has its challenges and for some, the emotional toll makes it hard to recover and may even result in homelessness. The annual four-day North County Veterans Stand Down in Vista, California, is an event established to enable San Diego County veterans (whether transitioning from the military, temporarily challenged by life, or on the road to success) to receive much-needed services and supplies. The campaign honors and thanks the men and women who have served our country and aims to aid them at whatever stage they are in life.
Both Helen Woodward Animal Center and Kahoots Pet and Feed Store salute our military. The organizations share a belief that animal companions provide some of the most unconditional love, comfort and devotion a human can experience – important to military members and their families whose lives have been spent serving our country near and far, experiencing stresses and fears the life can bring. The idea to partner for the North County Stand Down aligns with both organizations passion to keep these pets with their deserving families.
“We are so grateful to partner with Kahoots on this special military campaign,” explained Helen Woodward Animal Center VP of Development Renee Resko. “We reside in a military town and these men and women are our heroes. Our military families deserve the utmost appreciation and I can’t think of a better way to demonstrate that appreciation than by helping cut the expenses of pet care so that they may have more years of the healing compassion of such a devoted friend.”
Helen Woodward Animal Center and Kahoots Pet and Feed Store will be on-site at the North County Veterans Stand Down this Friday, October 21st and Saturday, October 22nd, in the Pet Zone. Thanks to the generosity of Kahoots, Helen Woodward Animal Center’s Lewyt Mobile Pet Health + Wellness Unit will be providing free wellness exams, vaccines, flea/tick medications, and microchipping. Pet goodie bags will include such items as a blanket, pet food, a toy and more. For more information, please contact Helen Woodward Animal Center at 858-756-4117.
