HEARTWARMING PUP-POSAL

Helen Woodward Animal Center Puppies Help San Diego Man Seal the Deal…

Rancho Santa Fe, Calif. (July 28, 2021) – Sometimes puppy love turns into happily-ever-after.  Today that happy-ending became a reality for a San Diego man who contacted Helen Woodward Animal Center to organize a one-of-a-kind PUP-posal to the woman he loved.  Kara Minoza said “yes” to Jethro Calma, surrounded by adorable orphan pups dressed for the occasion.  The twosome, who are passionate about saving orphan pups, have proven they are equally passionate about each other.

When reaching out to Helen Woodward Animal Center, Calma knew a rescue-centered proposal would be the way to his girlfriend’s heart.

“Saving orphan animals is extremely important to her,” explained Calma.  My girlfriend has personally rescued 16 dogs over her lifetime.  My whole family cares about the mission. My dad currently has three dogs that were rescued from the Thailand meat trade.”

Calma wanted to stop by Helen Woodward Animal Center to donate blankets and food while his girlfriend was in town.  He hoped there would be a good location to propose.

“My job is filled with sweet moments and heartwarming events,” stated Communications Manager Fernanda Lopez.  “Surprisingly, a marriage proposal is something we have never been asked to be a part of before.  We couldn’t resist.”

This morning, Calma, his parents, and Minoza stopped by Helen Woodward Animal Center to donate items and take a tour of the facility.  Unbeknownst to Minoza, a strategically-timed photo shoot was taking place in the Center’s media room.  When the Calma family and Mionza were invited in, one special puppy had the ring attached to its collar.  Surrounded by hearts, pups, and the man she loved, Minoza said “yes.”

“Puppies are simply love and magic with fur,” stated Helen Woodward Adoptions Customer Services Manager Erika Cubberly.  “We can’t think of a better way to provide a gift of love on such a special day.”
