Violet and her little Flowers

Sleeping newborn black and brown puppies.

Violet’s journey began in Central Valley, California, where she arrived at our partner shelter after being picked up by animal control. Along with several other dogs, she had been abandoned just down the road from the shelter. Fortunately, Violet was one of the lucky ones rescued—and just in time, because soon after, she gave birth to her beautiful puppies.

Our partner rescue stepped in to bring Violet and her babies to the Center, knowing they’d be safe and well cared for. Violet is a 2-year-old Dachshund blend and her little ones are only 2 weeks old upon arriving at Helen Woodward Animal Center.
