Animals for Armed Forces Foundation and Helen Woodward Animal Center Unite Hearts Just in Time for Christmas…
A heart-warming partnership between Animal for Armed Forces Foundation (AFAF) and Helen Woodward Animal Center kicks-off an early Christmas for deserving military families. Due to a generous donation by AFAF, military pet adoptions will be covered throughout the month of December, while supplies last. Helen Woodward Animal Center invites military families to meet potential new furry family members. As this year’s pandemic restrictions require adoption appointments, military families are encouraged to sign up NOW for the limited spaces available.
Animals for Armed Forces Foundation is a Southern California non-profit dedicated to bringing smiles to military heroes while also saving orphan pets in need. Along with Helen Woodward Animal Center, they recognize the years of love laughter and devotion a pet can provide – all crucial elements to assist military members and their families whose lives have been dedicated to serving our country near and far.
“The holiday season is emotional for so many reasons but probably doubly so for our military,” explained Dora Dahlke, Adoptions Services Manager. “They are experiencing worry and fear and maybe even some depression. Add to that the fact that this year’s pandemic is keeping individuals away from their extended families, so adding the joy and comfort a new furry family member is more crucial than ever before.”
Due to COVID-19, all adoptions at Helen Woodward Animal Center are by appointment only. (Pay only a $32 microchip fee.) Limit one animal per household. Family must meet adoption requirements. Subject to limitations on availability. The military adoption discount applies to active duty, reserve and veterans of the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard and National Guard, and/or immediate family members.
