Especially for Girl Scouts

Daisies
Come enjoy the Center for a one-hour introductory tour and meet our animals up close! Available any day of the week.
Cost: $6/child, w/$40 minimum.

Animal Try-it (Brownies) 
Meetings with live creatures make discovering the animal world fun. We'll explore the difference between wild and domestic animals and learn how to be safe around all sorts of critters.
Cost: $7 per child, w/$40 deposit.

Pet Care Badge (Girl Scouts)
A tour of the Center, a chance to pet animals, and fun activities help girls complete most of the requirements for their Pet Care Badge (Requirement #2 must be done on the girls' own time). 

All of our programs are carefully designed to meet the objectives outlined in the Girl Scouts Badges Manual, and have been approved by Girl Scout Program Specialists. 

Workshops last 90 minutes. Available any day of the week. You choose the tour time, as long as it falls within 10 a.m.-3:30 p.m.
Cost: $7 per child, w/$40 deposit

Horse Lovers Badge (Girl Scouts) 
Two-hours of fun, hands-on activities and interaction with our gentle horses. We've put together a curriculum based on the requirements as stated in the Girl Scout Badge Handbook:

1. Develop safety guidelines your group will use while earning this badge.*
2. Find out what is involved in the care of a horse, including a chance to feed acceptable treats to our horses.
3. Examine the tools used to groom a horse and learn to use the brush and currycomb.
4. Discover what's what on a horse.
5. Learn the parts of a saddle and a bridle, and how each contributes to the comfort of the horse and rider.
6. Find out about the training of horses used in our Therapeutic Riding Program
7. Sleuth out the places you could ride in San Diego, and how much it would cost you.*
*Mandatory in the Girl Scout Badge Handbook.
Cost: $8 per girl, with a $50 Deposit
Your program fee helps cover food and care costs for these magnificent animals. Horse Lover's Badge is designed for Girl Scouts of America, but available to any youth group.

Pet Interest Project - Animal Careers (Girl Scouts) 
In this two- hour program, girls get up- close to encounter various animals, and to explore the field of animal careers and animal welfare. A great look at education, training, and possible jobs in the future working with animals.
Cost: $8/ child $40 deposit
