2026 Year End

LOOK AT THEIR FACES…

You can save lives like theirs.

This past year was defined by brave and resilient animals—surviving for the sake of their siblings who never had a chance.

Frodo & Sam

Meet Sam and Frodo

In May, five newborn kittens were found zip-tied in a shopping cart. Only two survived—Frodo and Sam.

Malnourished, motherless, and with Frodo’s tiny leg badly injured, their odds were heartbreakingly slim. But because of donors like you, they were rushed to Helen Woodward Animal Center, where they were bottle-fed, nurtured, and given lifesaving medical care — including Frodo’s amputation.

Four months later, they were healthy, playful, and adopted — together.

Their survival is a tribute to the lives that couldn’t be saved — and to the compassion that keeps hope alive for others still waiting.

Meet Penny

In late March, Penny a Labrador blend arrived full of joy and affection. But during intake exams, our medical team discovered severe anemia: her body were slowly starving for oxygen.

Our veterinarians fought tirelessly with transfusions, testing, and around-the-clock care. Thanks to their dedication — and supporters like you —
Penny survived. Today, she’s thriving and full of life as she prepares to find her forever home.

Your support saves lives like Frodo’s, Sam’s, and Penny’s — brave survivors who remind us why we never give up.
