AniMeals Relief Program
Helen Woodward Animal Center’s AniMeals program feeds over 600 dogs and cats each month in coordination with different partner organizations throughout the community. The mission of AniMeals is to keep pets in the home regardless of the logistical or financial challenges faced by our clients which include homebound and low-income elderly, physically or psychologically impacted veterans, the disabled, and the homeless. For many individuals a pet is more than a pet, but rather a companion that provides friendship, joy and even a reason for living. AniMeals coordinates individual pet food packaging and delivery to those in need and in these times that includes pet owners who are struggling with the loss of employment due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
AniMeal’s Relief for COVID-19
At this time, Helen Woodard Animal Center’s AniMeals program is graciously offering a two week supply of dog and/or cat food for individuals that have been laid off due to the COVID-19 outbreak. We understand the difficulties ahead for you and want to assist with feeding your beloved companions. In order to qualify for this assistance, please complete the information below including your former company’s information along with details about your pets. We will assist in feeding up to three pets; either dogs or cats and we will email you an allotted time when your food will be available for pick up. If you qualify for assistance you will receive an email within 48 hours with a scheduled pick-up time. Pick-up times will be Monday, Wednesday, or Thursday during daytime hours only. Due to the social distancing advised by the CDC you must be able to come at your assigned time as your food will only be available then. We will provide food one time per family during this outbreak.
Please fill out the form below with up to three pets:
UPDATE: Starting Thursday, March 26, we will begin to include a 2-week supply of non-perishable food for people as part of the pet food distribution thanks to Feeding San Diego! A very special thanks to our friends at Feeding San Diego for this wonderful and much needed contribution!
