Owner Followup Stories

Many of our new adoptive parents send us great stories about how their new companion is doing. Here are just a few that remind us how important our work is at Helen Woodward, and that every life deserves a chance.

CUDDLES

CuddlesCuddles found her forever home on November 23, 2008.  In a letter to the Center, her owner writes:

“I have been looking for 6 months for a mix Siamese.  I am drawn to their coloring and cute faces….She shares our cat friendly home with our 17 year old mix Siamese Smokey and 14 year old Nelly….We feel very lucky to have found Cuddles now called ‘Peanut’.  She is a delight and very much a part of our day.”

HAPPY

HappyHappy was adopted on December 14, 2008 and has a very special tail.  As you can see in the attached photo, it is short and crooked!  Her new family, who renamed her Bootsy, writes:

Happy“We love Bootsy!  She has gotten our 17-yr-old cat to play with toys, an amazing accomplishment.  She loves everybody else right back – family, friends, cats, dogs.  When she is not racing around the house chasing toys or someone’s tail (she thinks tails are fascinating because she doesn’t have one), she’s chowing down on any dog or cat food in sight or sleeping on any available bed.  She has brought youth and joy into our home.”

GLAMOUR

glamourGlamour was found by her new Mom on 12/20/2008 at the Center during the 10th annual Iams Home 4 the Holidays campaign.  Her new name is Shadow and she was seen on our website by her adopter, who writes:

“She has a huge yard…to run in and runs all over.  Took to the dog door and uses it.  She’s very energetic and loves to play.   ..I love her and she will have a home with me as long as she lives. …She sleeps with me and is a great bed partner. …She is a joy in my life.”

CUPID

CupidHere is what we have heard about Cupid’s new life, after being adopted on December 21, 2008:

Cupid“I am absolutely delighted to tell you that my Helen Woodward adoption experience was amazing.  I was so lucky to have found Cupid (I renamed him Nico).  I’m Greek, so he needed a Greek name!  He comes to work with me every day and is a big hit in my office!  He’s very gentle, sweet and kind to other people and dogs.  In the time I have had Nico, I have felt an enormous sense of joy to have opened my home to such a lovely little creature.  …he’s an angel and I am so lucky and blessed.  Thank you!”
